Introducing our new Digital Support Intern: Cara
Hi everyone! I’m Cara and I’m so excited to be joining as the new Digital Support Intern. I’ve just returned to the University of Leeds after an incredible year abroad at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. It was a year full of travel, meeting people from all over the world, and enhancing my digital media skills through projects I worked on to connect with friends and family at home.
In my role here, I’ll be helping out with our digital sessions, whether that’s guiding someone through an unfamiliar phone setting, helping set up a new tablet, or showing useful tips to make everyday tasks a bit easier online. I’ll also be working on our social media pages and helping create marketing materials, so we can share updates, events, and stories from our community.
I believe that learning new skills—especially with technology—should feel relaxed, friendly, and never intimidating. I love working with people one-to-one as well as within collaborative sessions, finding ways to make things educational whilst predominantly enjoyable.
I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone who comes along to the sessions, hearing your stories, and working together to keep our community connected and thriving—both online and in person.
