In our other projects, like Getting Active and Online, Bramley Digital Inclusion, and the Mens Film and TV Club, an unexpected outcome was the fantastic relationships built between younger and older people.

In Zoom to 3K, we want to take the best of our recent projects, and use intergenerational friendships to foster less isolation and more physical activity for those involved.

We want to ‘buddy up’ young people from likes of The University of Leeds with older adults across Leeds, who’ll have a couple of weeks to get to know each other over the phone and zoom before joining in with group zoom cafes with everyone else for themed intergenerational chats and gentle exercise.

We plan for this project to culminate in an event in a Leeds park, to join in a 3K challenge, together with a few exercise classes and games.

We plan to be flexible with how this project is delivered, if we can go in person- we will!
