We’re really pleased to share that our Activity Centre will be launching in January 2026, made possible through the generous support of Leeds City Council’s Inner North West Committee.

This funding has enabled us to prepare the space and get everything in place to begin offering activities at the start of the new year. The grant has helped us purchase essential equipment, including free weights and yoga mats, and to plan free taster exercise sessions, giving local people the opportunity to try something new in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The Activity Centre is closely linked with Bramley Community Café, and together they reflect what Your Back Yard is all about. As a Leeds-based social enterprise, our core aim is to support health, wellbeing, and active ageing, while creating inclusive spaces where people can feel comfortable, connected, and supported. Whether someone joins us for a coffee, a conversation, or some gentle physical activity, it all contributes to building a healthier and more connected community.

From January, we’ll be running Strength & Conditioning Exercise Classes, open to all abilities. These sessions are designed to be friendly and accessible, and there’s no need to book — you can simply turn up and take part.

We would like to extend our thanks to Leeds City Council Inner North West Committee for their support in helping us bring the Activity Centre to life. This funding is allowing us to begin offering activities that will support the health and well-being of our community from the very start of the year.

We look forward to welcoming people through the doors in January.
