Our brilliant yoga instructor Jan has written a few words to explain the benefits of yoga and mindfulness:
“Thousands of years ago, the ancient yogis knew the benefits of yoga and mindfulness. Today we can tap into their wisdom no matter who we are, what shape we are, or whatever our physical limitations. Yoga is for everyone. Yoga is joining together the body, mind, breath and spirit. It is cultivating awareness for us to release tension, turn our focus inwards and bring our mind and body into alignment with the present moment. When we focus our awareness in the present moment (on the breath, feelings, sensations, sounds, taste, smell) we still the mind and calm the emotions. We experience the calm behind our busy mind. We embody the stillness behind our emotions. We step back into our day feeling rested, energised and focused. Why not give yoga and mindfulness a try; it really is for everyone.”
We really understand how beneficial yoga and mindfulness can be and we are planning on live-streaming some online yoga/meditation sessions and hopefully running socially distanced outdoor yoga sessions once the government guidelines permit it.
